About Me
Hi, I’m Liz — the girl behind Girl Going Bald. For most of my life, my thick, dirty-blonde hair was my defining feature. I grew up believing it would always be there. Then, in March 2019, I noticed a tiny bald spot on my scalp. Within months, my hair was falling out faster than I could process. I panicked, spiraled on Google, begged doctors for answers, sobbed in my car, tried bizarre treatments, and questioned my self-worth. Alopecia Areata humbled me in ways I never expected.
This page isn’t a perfectly curated bio; it’s the messy and honest story of a woman rebuilding her identity without her hair. Through Girl Going Bald, I share the ups and downs — the risky haircuts, the injection appointments, the functional medicine experiments, the nights out I regretted, and the moments of acceptance that sneak up on me when I least expect them.
If you’re here because you’re losing your hair, I see you. If you’re here because someone you love is going through it, thank you for trying to understand. I’m still learning, still healing, and still occasionally crying in the shower. But I’m also learning to laugh again. Thanks for being here.
